Women’s Day Racquetball Clinic 2012
The Bob Sierra YMCA in Tampa played host to the 2012 Women’s Day Clinic held April 28th. The Florida Racquetball Association helped to finance the event in an effort to promote women’s racquetball.
This year’s event proved once again to be very successful. Twenty-two women from around the state came together for a day of instruction, camaraderie among friends, on court playing, fitness and work out tips, and the chance to meet new players and make new friends. The ladies were given instruction by eight instructors, Mary Lyons, Karen Bouchard, Sue Adams, Jean Trimble, Janet Tyler, Renee Fish, Sara Noyes, and Melody Butler. After instructions were completed, playing with the instructors was also available to all the ladies.
The day began at 9:00 AM and lasted until 5:00 PM. After lunch all the ladies participated in a drawing and were rewarded with really nice prizes provided by our wonderful sponsors for this event. Thank you Wilson, Ektelon, and Florida Racquetball Association. Also thanks to Yvonne Buffington and the Bob Sierra YMCA who hosted the event and made it possible to run the clinic.
The FRA plans to sponsor the event as well next year. Dates and locations will be posted on the FRA website.
