Women's
Racquetball Day - recap by Jean Trimble. see
the pictures
The Orlando Fitness and Racquet Club played host to the 2006 Women’s Racquetball Weekend Friday and Saturday, May 5th and 6th.
The event again proved to be a huge success bringing 30 women from all over the state of Florida. The event had players from the open level, novice level, and every division in between.
The Florida Racquetball Association again made it possible for the veteran players and AmPro Certified Instructors to once again provide a day of instruction, playing, video analysis, social ,and great fun activities for the women. The instructors were Laura Brandt, Susan Pfahler, Jean Trimble, Kassi Herr, Vivian Gomez, and Sue Hann.
A special thanks to Ektelon and Wilson who provided the participates with great gifts, balls, and other necessary items needed for the event. Every participant learned a great deal about racquetball, had a great time, and went home with new racquetball products.
A special thanks to Mike Mojer, the Racquetball Director at the Orlando Fitness and Racquet Club. Mike is very supportive of our events and works with us to provide a great time for all the women.
We plan to have the event again next year in May. Hope to see you there.

"Big
D" Roadshow Recap: see
the pictures
Derek Robinson recently toured and conducted free
clinics in three Florida cities. The concept of these
tours is to support racquetball at the grass roots
level. On Tuesday, March 7th he was hosted by
Andy Pawlowski at Club Boom (formerly Omega 40 ) in Ormond
Beach. Approximately 25 people attended the clinic with
another 10 - 15 spectators. There were many positive
comments both during and following the clinic. On
Wednesday, March 8th, Derek was hosted by Paul Owens at the
Cape Canaveral Recreation Center. The weather was
perfect at this outdoor event and it was well
attended. On Thursday, Joe Canuel hosted the Melbourne
event at Pro-Health where he also had a good crowd.
Additionally the Canaveral and Melbourne events were
supported by fellow team players Manny Shaw and Rick Ferrin.
